The Doodle Project - pictoplasma character walk
Dante Zaballa Solo Ausstellung
opening on the 30th of April 12 pm
DEUTSCHE VERSION HIER!
Dante Zaballa is a frame-by-frame animator from Argentina, who likes to experiment with diverse materials such as crayons, acrylics and markers. The time consuming process doesn't stop him from creating incredibly lively animation with bright characters and explosive colors.
His work combines seemingly messy hand-drawn lines, raw shapes and flickering textures, with perfect timing, animation physics and precise movement.
Currently based in Berlin, together with Matias Vigliano he is co-founder of the Buenos Aires located Parquerama Studios, famed for the experimental short "The Head", and soon to release the new animation "Big Bang Dog".
During Pictoplasma Dante Zaballa will present The Doodle Project and The Doodle Workshop at neurotitan.
The Doodle Project is an animated experiment where Dante did an animation with a stickman and invited friends and artists he admires to draw a character on it, using the pose of the stick man as a reference. 62 Illustrators and 14 musicians from all around worked on it.
From April 30 to May 4 the visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in The Doodle Workshop, similar to the doodle project, but this time it works as a live drawing experience. The artist will leave several frames of the animation in the exhibition space and the visitors are free to draw their own characters on it.
The result will be an unexpected explosion of characters from artist all around the globe, including yourself.
